EHL KO16 starting in Surbiton
The 18th season of the world's best club hockey competition starts this Thursday
If, like me, you’re a fan of club hockey… the EHL is the hockey event you cherish most 😉
In Europe, club hockey is at the heart and base of the sport, with players (of every level, age and gender) spending 30 to 35 weeks per year training and playing with their clubs. That’s not even counting the hours every week we spend at the club together with our friends and family. Some of these play this at topsport level and star in the EHL.
The Euro Hockey League sets out to promote and reinforce the status of club level hockey by creating new and more opportunities for the big European clubs to play each other in the international arena. And as such giving club hockey more exposure, more spectators, more high quality TV coverage and a broader media and marketing platform to promote our sport as a way to enjoy a healthy lifestyle.
Surbiton receives the EHL
The English club of Surbiton is the host for the ABN AMRO EHL KO16 Men with all the action tipping off on Thursday 2024-10-03 as the 18th (!!!) season of the world’s premier club hockey competition begins.
Over 40 Olympians from this summer in Paris have been named in the squad lists for the event. With 16 clubs from 11 countries aiming for a spot in the Final 8 in April next year to fight for the title of Europe’s best.
